City Secretary

• provides staff support to the City Manager
• serves as the elections administrator for all City elections of the City of Kingsville
• receives campaign finance reports from local candidates, officeholders, and political action committees as required by the Texas Ethics Commission
• attends every meeting of the City Commission
• keeps accurate minutes of the proceedings of the City Commission
• prepares and distributes City Commission agenda and support material
• prepares all ceremonial items for the Mayor and City Commission
• oversees records management program for the City
• maintains, safeguards, and records all documents approved by the City Commission
•  performs research on records for public, City staff, and Commission as requested
•  administers oaths of office
• prepares publication of official notices
• coordinates and updates City's municipal code of ordinances
• validates and certifies petitions
• accepts petitions and appeals filed by citizens
• processes and maintains all records of appointments to various boards and commissions
•  serves as liaison between the public and the Commission
  keeps the official seal of the City
• serves as the Governmental Body Representative to the Volunteer Fire Fighters Pension Board
• performs other duties as may be required by the City Commission, City Manager, City Charter, or State Law.
