Building Permit Fees

* PERMITS REQUIRED FOR ALL NEW CONSTRUCTION *

Engineered plans must be submitted to the Planning Administrator (361) 595-8007, and approved prior to issuance of any Building Permits. This applies to new construction only. For questions, please call the Building Inspector at (361) 595-8020.

BUILDING PERMIT $0.16 per square feet This permit can only be pulled by the contractor only (Commercial) or the homeowner (Residential) if there is no registered contractor.	MECHANICAL PERMIT $0.04 per square feet This permit can only be pulled by a state licensed mechanical contractor who is with the city.
ELECTRICAL PERMIT $0.06 per square feet This permit can only be pulled by a state licensed electrician who is registered with the city.	PLUMBING PERMIT $0.04 per square feet This permit can only be pulled by a state licensed plumber who is registered with the City.

OVERALL FIRE INSPECTION - $40.00
*Must contact the Fire Marshall at (361) 595- 8049 to arrange for inspections and further information relating to this type of inspection.

CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY - $25.00
* This fee is required to be paid for the Building Official’s inspection prior to issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy.
