Why We Are Here?
It is the duty of this department to furnish supplies, equipment and services, when needed, to the various departments and divisions in the required quality, quantity, and at the best possible price. This is accomplished by standardization and competitive bidding on the basis of adequate specifications, whenever practical. In addition, this department handles the office supply inventory.

To Help You
We are always ready and willing to help you complete your business in this office with a minimum of lost time. To salesmen having an item or product to sell, come to the Municipal Building located at 200 E. Kleberg. On your arrival, present yourself to the Administrative Secretary. She will notify the Purchasing Director of your arrival. The Purchasing Director will be happy to see you and will give you ample time to present your sales proposal. The office hours for All City Hall Employees and Salesmen are from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon and 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. This office is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays. It will be appreciated if you will make this office the First Point of contact when presenting your products to the City of Kingsville. Because of the nature of your product, it may be desirable to put you in contact with the departments which use or may use such products. Many of these departments and divisions are spread throughout the City.

The Purchasing Department provides a Professional and Dedicated Supply Management service to the City of Kingsville. A variety of goods and services will be offered through the contracts negotiated on behalf of the City of Kingsville by the Purchasing employees. Purchasing employees will continually seek to improve upon their service by satisfying the needs of their internal customers (using departments), who require a wide range of quality products and services within an acceptable time period at competitive prices while demonstrating the best value for the taxpayers' money.
