Spur 169 (University BLVD) To Be Resurfaced

SPUR 169 (UNIVERSITY BLVD) IN KINGSVILLE TO BE RESURFACED

Week-long project begins Aug. 9; parallel parking prohibited on Spur 169 during project

August 4, 2017

KINGSVILLE – A project to repave Spur 169 (University Boulevard) is scheduled to begin Aug. 9 and be completed in about a week, weather permitting.

The project involves milling the existing pavement, making repairs and then resurfacing the roadway with a new travel surface. The limits of this project are from SH 141 (King Street) to West Santa Gertrudis Street.

During the project, parallel parking will be prohibited on Spur 169. Since the road is a boulevard with a median, the work will take place on one side of the roadway at a time with two-way, single-lane traffic maintained on the other side of the road.

Motorists should expect delays, consider using alternate routes, slow down in the work zone and follow all traffic control instructions.
