Q: Do I need an architect

A: Please see the Architect Requirement flow chart

Q: How long does it take to get a permit?

A: There are many factors that can change the time it takes to receive a permit.  The most important is having all of the documentation required for the project.  This helps us not have to go back and forth waiting on documents before we start the plan review.  Standard plan review time for residential is 10 business days, and 20 business days for commercial.

Please see the submittal requirements.

Q: Do I need an engineer?

A: If you are doing any work that will be part of the lateral force resisting system for the structure you will need windstorm design and engineering. This is due to the fact we are located in a windstorm design region.

Q: Do I need a WPI-1?

A: If you are doing work that is not exempt from inspection by a windstorm inspector.  Please see the “Home repairs that don’t require a windstorm inspection” guide
